7 acres of sustainable, climate-resilient agroecology
In the greenbelt
Located in the Woodcote Smallholdings, in the Borough of Sutton, South London, Sutton Community Farm has a mixture of open fields and polytunnels.
The farm is in the greenbelt on the outskirts of London, and is surrounded by other land-based businesses.
We grow mostly annual vegetable crops, all of which go into our seasonal veg boxes. We also have a variety of fruit trees and bushes. We don’t keep any livestock.
Farming that’s in tune with nature (and people too)
Sutton Community Farm is a certified organic, agroecological farm.
Agroecology brings together ecology – the relationships between people, plants, animals and the environment – and agriculture – the practice of cultivating crops or keeping livestock.
Agroecology is a method of farming that promotes beneficial relationships between plants, soil, people, and wider economic, political and societal systems.
Growing the next generation of growers
A better food system starts with farmers
The average UK farmer is 60 years old – one of the highest across all professions. This urgently needs to change for a sustainable food future.
Every purchase from our online farm shop helps train the next generation of organic growers.
Ethical trading
Ethics underpin our community enterprise. The farm buys only organic veg, we pay other farmers a good price for their food, and we promote seasonality of produce.
In trading with other organic farms, we reduce packaging and food waste, and support short supply chains and local food economies.
Understand seasonality, get inspired by weekly recipes, and stay up to date with what's happening on the farm
